Organisational Sustainability With a regional head office and an active involvement in rural and regional matters, Sefton & Associates has an excellent understanding of a range of environmental and broader sustainability issues. Addressing sustainability in rural businesses In general, communities in rural and regional areas have a different attitude to the issue of sustainability than those in the city. They rely heavily on agriculture, as well as mining and tourism, to sustain them. Climate change represents a very real threat to their day-to day-livelihoods and lifestyles. They are more vulnerable to the direct impacts of climate change than people living in cities – indeed many are already suffering the impacts of a prolonged drought that is seen as linked to climate change. Robbie’s thorough understanding of these issues and how they affect rural and regional businesses and their staff, customers and stakeholders, ensures a credible and empathetic approach to sustainability planning for agribusinesses or organisations based in rural areas. Our own commitment to sustainability Personally and professionally, the Sefton & Associates’ team is committed to doing business in a sustainable manner. Through both the Sefton & Associates’ business and Robbie Sefton’s related farming operation, all activities are undertaken with consideration as to how they will contribute to a healthier environment both for now and the future. The Sefton & Associates team ensures our office and building complies with all legislative requirements and community expectations in environmental management systems. We reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible. We print double sided, recycle paper and printer cartridges, turn off equipment overnight and avoid air conditioning and heating when possible. Maintenance is carried out when required to avoid waste or loss. Travel is planned efficiently when required.
